EPL Team Of The Season - the real one

On Monday we gave you the real Player of the Season, Villain of the Season & the all-important Best Kit of the Season. Yesterday the Footiecall team sat down to decide who should make up the EPL Team of the Season. The PFA, as we all agreed, know nothing since they had Scott Parker in theirs. It's time to set things right!
The process of deciding the best XI in the league is no mean feat & it took over 6 minutes on gtalk to decide on our keeper. The decision was then taken to choose 3 different teams & see which team you guys thought the best.
  • We decided on a 3-4-3 formation
  • Our manager is of course Alan Pardiola
  • Our mascot is the African Ostrich
The obvious difficult decision was to decide who deserves a spot. Should you simply go for stats? Well the problem therein is that the best stats generally come from the top teams. What about those players in the lesser clubs who single-handedly helped them avoid relegation, or those keepers/defenders who secured the mid-table teams respect? The best XI for the season might not be the best on paper, but what they've done this season for themselves & their clubs, justifies a spot in out team.
We still aren't sure how Scott Parker made the PFA team, but we shall move on.

In comparison to the PFA team:

  • All 3 of our teams featured Micah Richards & we only had 3 defenders. This shows how highly we rated his season.
  • Later today the England squad will be announced. Rumours are that it may exclude Richards - do they rate him so differently to the way we rate him?
  • Given our 3-4-3 formation, it allows us to put in all top 3 EPL strikers. I mean really, would you not take Sergio Aguero over Leighton Baines? 80 goals shared between our strikers this season. That's "Eighty" in words.
  • Dempsey - another constant in each FootieCall team, yet missing from the PFA. Is it just us?
  • Lastly, we decided that the contribution of Vorm & Krul was more important to their teams than Hart's contribution City, who already has a formidable defense.

Everyone has their personal Best XI for this season (reminder not to choose Parker) and if you have a better XI than the above, let us know.
Is the PFA XI more deserved or even better than our choices? Which of our 3 teams is the best? What's your EPL XI for the season?
