Beautiful...is it not?!

The saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is helluva relevant to the game of football I love so dearly. Of course the understanding or interpretation of the word 'Beautiful' can vary somewhat, from person to person...

For centuries footballers have showcased their abilities, which have been interpreted as beauty, with Pele dubbing it 'The Beautiful Game'...which is quite apt, seeing as he is one of those at the forefront, executing some of the finest pieces of individual brilliance we've seen [even today].

In order to experience beauty...you need to physically see it.

How then are there so many who claim to be followers of football or a team specifically, when they're not actively seeing the beauty.

I call this 'bandwagon jumping'...and it annoys me to the Nth degree. What's even more annoying is these same people having the audacity to voice an opinion, when quite frankly they are in no position to do so.

Moving on to those who do follow this game, ardently. I am certain we all have one-or-few individuals who spring to mind when we associate the words "beauty and football"...whether it be a clinical goalscorer, a tricky/pacey winger or a tough-tackling defender, fact is all of these examples contribute to the aesthetically pleasing side of football.
